Five Things I understand
1.Gogol remembers a time when he was small that him and his dad went to a light house near the ocean.
2. Gogol stopped going out with Maxine and later found out that she had gotten engaged to another man.
3. Went on a date with an Indian girl that her mom told her to named Moushumi. He had met her before at the parties his parents had when he was small.
4. Gogol and Moushumi are going to be married in a year.
5. Go to Paris for a vacation.

1. Did the author write the story from her experience?

3. Does the author’s son go through some of the thing Gogol went through?

Two literally elements
1. “The train rattles forward” pg 184, this is a pun with the word rattles.
2. Gogol is a round character. At first he did not like the Idea of marrying a Bengali girl but then changes his mind.
One sentence Summary
1. Gogol marries the Bengali girl and starts having a new life being married.
